What is 100+ Kids Who Care Chatham-Kent?

Want to develop a little Philanthropist?
100 Kids intends to show that philanthropy (giving) comes from the willingness to help and that anyone can contribute, regardless of age, gender or their net worth. 100 Kids wants to inspire the next generation of GIVERS (philanthropists) by providing a platform to help and contribute to local charities. Let’s show our children the true spirit and joy of giving and let them see what a difference their contributions make.

How does 100+ KidsCK work?

What do the Kids do with their nomination?

Kids can nominate any charity or non-profit in the Chatham-Kent community. Funds have to stay LOCAL. Send us the following information:

Nominations must be received by Sunday before the meeting! 3 will be randomly selected that day and child/parent will be contacted 1 week in advanceof the meeting and the child will have a chance to make a presentation about their nomination.

What do the Kids Present?

Presentations should be short and informal. 1-3 minutes in length.
No props, audio visuals or hand outs.
Speak about: which organization you nominated and why you choose them. How our donation will help them and/or share a personal story.
You can present by yourself, in a sibling group or together with a friend or two.
Parents cannot help their child or present on their behalf.

What do parents get out of this?

You can teach and foster the spirit of philanthropy early in your children's lives.  You can teach them that charity does not discriminate against age, gender or income level. You can teach them the benefits of a democratic voting system.  You meet like minded parents.  It's a fun, quick and productive evening out with your kids!

Support your child's interest and commitment in the group.
Encourage them to learn about charitable and non-profit organizations in the community in need and nominate them.
Consider starting a "Giving Bank" - a way for your child to earn money by helping others to use for their meetings.
Help younger children prepare an inform 1-3 minute speech about their nomination.
Drive your child to and from their committed meetings. (You are encouraged to stay)
Own a business? - consider sponsoring cool swag, snacks, a door prize, financial costs for meetings, technology development, or helping out at a meeting.

Note** Parents will not receive tax receipts for their child's donation.
